As Chairman of Richard Durning’s Charity I would like to welcome you to our website.
The site aims to provide guidance to young people who are considering applying for a grant from the Charity. We have included downloads of the necessary forms should you wish to apply. There is also information about the Charity as it exists today, its origins and history. (See links above)
We are immensely proud that the Charity has existed since 1692, being the foundation body of Richard Durning’s Endowed Primary School. The Trustees of the Charity administer its assets, the income from which is used to provide special benefits to the school and to award grants to young people towards the cost of their education and training.
I hope you find the website interesting and informative.
A book The Hundred Pound School detailing the history of the School and Charity and a Children's version Richard Durning's Endowed School - What's in a Name? were published in 2016. Click here for more information and how to purchase copies from Amazon.
Unfortunately, due to the current financial uncertainty, the charity will be unable to make any students awards this year, but please do look into applying next year.
