Few schools have the chance to mark their three hundredth anniversary. Even more unusual is the fact that the school still exists in its original building. To ensure the tercentenary is remembered in 2092, a time capsule was placed in the roof of class 3. This contained children’s writings, photographs and various memorabilia of the time, A key to the box was was left with Lancashire Records Office for safe keeping. Staff at the Records Office helped prepare and preserve the box’s contents. It is possible that pupils at the school today may still be alive when the box is opened in 2092.
